Business Plan Simulation
What is it?
Business Plan Simulation is an event held by the Rotary Club that puts students into the shoes of those trying to charter/restart a business. In order to do that, students must learn and construct a reasonable profit and loss statement to be presented to the prospective bankers at the end of the first day session. Factors such as positions, costs, marketing expenses, and so on must be carefully thought through. Each group is randomly picked and placed with a mentor who either works in the field or has a vast understanding of it. On the second day, groups are given their "second year" numbers to work with and told to come up with a second year plan to present to the bankers to ensure continued investment. At the conclusion of the second day, the winning group with the most reasonable profit and loss statement gets the glory.
