Virtual Business Challenge
What is it?
Virtual Business Challenge, or VBC for short, was designed by, Knowledge Matters. Its goal is to allow students all over the country to demonstrate and learn new skills through extensive simulations. FBLA is participating in the following Simulations:
Virtual Business Challenge Finance (VBCF) - In this simulation, you and your team will work together to decide what their character will do to accumulate the most money in the allotted time period. This simulation has many aspects of real life such as the ability to get a job, maintaining a schedule, and even use a credit card. The simulation goes further into depth by giving you a credit score, a resume, and a net worth while also allowing you to set your own schedule, apply for a job, get a degree, buy your own furniture, apply for loans, buy your own food, file tax returns, buy insurance, pay for internet, use debit cards, open checking accounts and saving accounts, and more.
Qualifying - In order to move on to the next round, you and your team must come in second place or higher in your region.
Virtual Business Challenge (Management) (VBCM) - In this simulation, you and your team will work together to make decisions to get the most profit for your jeans factory in the allotted time period. This simulation has many aspects of real life such as the ability to hire and fire people, decide production rates, and supervise workers. The simulation goes further into depth by allowing you to set the number of breaks your workers get in a day, set wages, and even allow for your workers to go on strike and/or sue your company if conditions are poor.
Qualifying - In order to move on to the next round, you and your team must come in second place or higher in your region.
