Rotary Club Career Day
About Career Day
Local workers in Piscataway and New Jersey volunteer their time to take a member through their day and show them what it's like to have their job. A wide variety of careers are available for members to pick, but regardless of the career chosen, everyone attending must be dressed in a manner befitting for FBLA (no jeans or sneakers, etc). We ask that anyone that attends show respect to their mentor for the day and bring something to take notes on and display interest with. Anyone opting to visit the state house requires an ID. Lunch will be provided to all attendees.
When is it? How will it work with my schedule?
The Rotary Club's Career Day takes place some time after the State Leadership Conference in April or May. In attending Career Day, members will be missing a day of school. Because of this, a permission slip must be signed. This form will exempt members from their absence for that day, but it is up to them to get any work they miss. Career Day will end in time for dismissal, and members will take their usual mode of transportation home.
What careers are offered?
Although our list is constantly changing from year to year depending on availability, these are the offered careers from Career Day 2015:
- Police Officer
- Lawyer
- Financial Analyst
- Investment Banker
- Human Resources
- Psychologist
- Etc.
