**3/23 Meeting for Potential Officers** Today's meeting was mandatory for everyone who was considering office. If you did not attend and did not reach out to Chelsea yet, you must do so ASAP!! Attached are the Officer Guidelines for the next year which you must review if you are running! Several other important details about elections: - Campaigning rules: No badmouthing of other candidates. Only speak of what YOU can do for the club, not what others cannot. - Election dates: 1st day of elections is May 12th for President, Vice President, Secretary, Treasurer, and Historian. 2nd day is May 19th for CSVP, PRVP, Membership VP, and Competitive Events Director. While the election dates are different applications for all positions are due on the same date. - Point minimum to run: All candidates must have at least 65 points by the deadline of the application. Points will be announced for each candidate. - Deadline for Apps: Deadline for applications will be April 8th at 1:45 PM. They will be distributed by the end of this week. - Adviser meetings with candidates: Both advisers will meet with each candidate prior to elections to discuss application and candidacy. Unless advisers suggest a different position, you cannot change the position you ran for. - Adviser Override: Both advisers will be able to discuss at the close of each office poll if the popular vote is the best choice in the club's best interest. - Uncontested polls: If there is only on candidate and 30% of voters vote "none", the position will not be filled and will be up for reelection or appointment. - Voting rules: Questions will be asked of each candidate. Every candidate will answer each question with a time limit of 30 seconds per answer. Order of candidates will be switched for fairness. Advisers and members are allowed to ask questions. There will be a limit for questions which will depend on time. Candidate experience and goals will be projected for voters to see. There will be no speeches. Elections will begin promptly at 2:00 PM.

Meeting for all potential candidates for the 2016-2017 officer board will take place on Wednesday, March 23rd after school (There is still a meeting this week for M:L).
All current officers will be in attendance to describe their position and what they do. There will be updated guidelines for the new year distributed. Michaels and Leacy will cover general guidelines that apply to everyone. Applications will not be released until April 14th. Anyone participating in Operations Committee must hand in their $25 by Friday, March 4th.
